“I preferred the calm water then and I prefer the calm water now, but preference doesn’t always equal circumstance.” Oh Meredith! Truer words were never spoken. I want this on a t-shirt and a baseball shirt and a hoodie. Thank you for putting a pen to your heart. In so many times and ways, it’s as if you are writing for me. Pouring out what I’ve not taken the time to process and make into sense. Be blessed sweet lady. One of these days, I’m driving from western Kentucky to sit on your porch and talk awhile. 💜

An insightful post, Meredith. On the one hand, Moses may have desired to see the Israelites cross over the Jordan River into Canaan. On the other, he must have been tired of leading a rather cantankerous hoard of people. God made the choice for him. I don't remember any scripture that speaks of Moses being angry with God over this choice either. We'd do well to follow his example and accept the way God has ordained. There's always reason behind it.

Beautifully said!!! I'm also doing Tara-Leigh recap and you made me see something that I did not notice before. He is with us through the wilderness and I will forever be thankful for that.

Moses did advocate for the people he loved! God’s mercy endures then and now. God does not change His mind. I just read a note this morning about how Moses died before he entered the promised land. Our minds cry foul, but God knows best!! Michael, the archangel, was dispatched to bury his body where no man could find it. Perhaps,Satan was thwarted. No glory to Moses in the new land…all glory to God who used his servant Moses to faithfully lead!

I’m not sure how I ended up here, but I’m so glad I did. I got your message but sometimes the words got in the way of the picture you were creating. So I just started reading faster and faster. The faster I read, the clearer the picture. This ties into what you said earlier @79 days of bible study.

What really crystallized what you were saying to everyone, to me, was your ‘calm water’ preference childhood memory. It was as if the wind chimes had just played their delicate melody to accentuate your point!

This whole experience and advice has really foundation shaking. It was telling me, “listen to THIS!”

You touched my soul mb through your 80 days of study.

God bless you and your family.
